We actively promote collaboration and integration between fundamental and clinical researchers, organizing scientific events like the annual OOA retreat to foster social interaction. This retreat enables about 200 PhD candidates to present their work, with early-career candidates displaying posters and senior candidates presenting oral sessions. They also chair sessions and award prizes, facilitating skill development in presenting and peer review, while fostering networking opportunities among participants engaged in both fundamental and applied research. Additionally, the retreat broadens candidates’ awareness of oncology research beyond their immediate environment and institute.
