Besides taking courses, a wide range of other activities also count as relevant aspects of your Training Plan.
Think of the annual OOA, CCA and AII retreats, along with other scientific activities such as attending conferences, work meetings, supervising students, writing scientific articles, participation in committees and giving education.
When no official accreditation is given for a course, conference attendance or when accreditation is variable you can calculate the number of ECTS yourself by using the formula: 1 ECTS point = 28 hours.
Conference (max 4 ECTS) If a (poster) presentation is given at a conference, a maximum of 1 extra ECTS point can be awarded (even if you have spent more than 28 hours preparing your presentation, only 1 ECTS point will be awarded).
Example: If you give a presentation at an 8-hour conference and preparing this presentation has taken you 6 hours, then in theory a maximum of 0.5 ECTS can be awarded.
Participating in committee (max 2 ECTS)
If you organize a conference or seminar, or are a member of the OOA council or another PhD council, you can count the hours spent on meetings, preparation, and the event itself for the number of ECTS credits
Example: If a full-time student needs an average of 5 hours a week supervision and the student is supervised for 6 months than 4.3 ECTS point can be claimed.
